Narrowcasting

The DoshDosh website has an interesting article about narrowcasting, which it has just published.

As opposed to broadcasting, the narrowcasting techniques involves focusing on a smaller, niche target group of readers when publishing articles to the internet.

This is aimed at provoking some kind of response from those readers, which in theory at least, should be more worthwile than the respone an article may have received from using broadcasting.

This technique is actually a widespread internet niche marketing technique, but the article is definitely a worthwile read, especially for those not familiar with the concept.
