Everyday we seem to hear more and more about how UK consumers are shopping online, and of course at this time of year it is to be expected.

At 1.09pm on 10th December however, all current online spending records were broken when UK online customers spent a staggering £767,500 in just a single minute.

The day is expected to become the UK's biggest ever online spending day with up to £370m being spent, according to payment processor Retail Solutions, and this year's total online spending is expected to top £50 billion, which is around 60% higher than last year's total online spending of just over £30 billion.
